Hand-Brushed Original
Each original artwork is hand-brushed in Japan with sumi ink on Japanese paper.
The brush movement, ink texture, and natural character of the paper make every piece one of a kind. This page explains the materials, process, framing options, and authenticity of Quiet Lines Japan’s original calligraphy works.
Materials
Quiet Lines Japan uses traditional sumi ink and Japanese paper, such as hanshi, for its original hand-brushed calligraphy works.
The paper has a soft texture and naturally receives the movement of the brush and the depth of the ink. Small variations in ink tone, brush pressure, and paper texture are part of the character of the original work.
These are not printed textures or digital effects. They are the natural traces of sumi ink meeting paper by hand.
Process
Each work begins with a single moment of brush and ink.
The character is written by hand, with attention to line, space, balance, and the feeling held within the word. Because sumi ink cannot be erased or corrected once it touches the paper, every brushstroke carries the presence of that moment.
After the artwork is completed, it is carefully dried, inspected, and prepared for shipping or optional hand-mounting.
Unframed Art
Unframed Art means the original calligraphy paper will be shipped as it is, without backing paper or a frame.
This option is suitable if you would like to choose your own framing method, mat board, or display style.
Please note:
The frame is not included.
The artwork is original paper and should be handled gently when framing.
Frame-Ready Option
The Frame-Ready Option means the original calligraphy paper will be carefully hand-mounted onto heavyweight backing paper to make it easier to handle when framing.
This option helps the delicate paper feel more stable and easier to place into a frame or mat.
Please note:
The frame is not included.
This is a hand-mounted finish by the artist, not a machine-made or museum conservation process.

Authenticity
Each original calligraphy artwork is created by hand by Akane in Japan.
Original works are not prints, digital downloads, or reproductions. The brush movement, ink depth, and small natural irregularities are part of what makes each piece unique.
If a piece is sold as an original, only that hand-brushed artwork is available.
Care & Framing Notes
Please keep the artwork away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and water.
For long-term display, framing behind glass or acrylic is recommended. A mat board can help protect the paper from touching the glass directly.
If you are unsure how to frame the piece, please consult a local framer.
