Quiet Lines Japan ships original hand-brushed Japanese calligraphy artworks from Japan.

This page explains shipping, delivery, customs duties, returns, digital downloads, materials, and common questions before purchase.

Shipping from Japan

All physical artworks are carefully packed and shipped from Japan.

Shipping methods, delivery countries, costs, and estimated delivery times are shown on each Etsy listing and at checkout. Please check the Etsy product page for the most up-to-date shipping information before placing your order.

Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on the destination country, customs clearance, weather, postal conditions, or local delivery delays.

Quiet Lines Japan uses Etsy as a clear purchase window for customers outside Japan. The works are created and shipped from Japan, while Etsy provides the purchase path, order records, and message history.

Processing Time

Processing time may vary depending on the item.

Ready-to-ship original artworks and card sets are usually prepared within the processing time shown on Etsy. Custom or made-to-order works may require additional time.

The estimated processing time is listed on each Etsy product page.

When tracking is available for your order, the tracking number will be shared through Etsy after shipping.

Please note that tracking updates may take some time to appear, especially after international dispatch or during customs clearance.

Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or handling fees may be charged by the destination country.

These charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost unless clearly stated by Etsy at checkout. Any customs duties, import taxes, or local handling fees are the buyer’s responsibility.

Customs policies vary by country and are determined by local authorities.

Please make sure your shipping address is correct before placing your order.

If an order is returned because of an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address, additional shipping fees may be required for reshipment.

Once an order has been shipped, I may not be able to change the delivery address.

Because of the nature of original artworks, custom-made pieces, and digital downloads, I generally do not accept returns or exchanges.

If your item arrives damaged, incorrect, or there is a problem with your order, please contact me through Etsy as soon as possible.

Please keep the packaging and take clear photos of the item and packaging if the item arrives damaged.

Original artworks are one-of-a-kind pieces created by hand.

Small natural variations in ink, line, paper texture, or brush movement are part of the character of a hand-brushed work. These are not defects, but traces of the handmade process.

When an artwork is listed as an original, only one original piece is available.

Unframed art means the calligraphy paper will be shipped as it is, without backing paper or a frame.

The frame-ready option means the calligraphy paper will be carefully hand-mounted onto heavyweight backing paper to make it easier to handle when framing.

Even with the frame-ready option, the frame is not included.

Some items may be offered as digital downloads.

Digital downloads are delivered as files and no physical item will be shipped. After purchase, please follow Etsy’s download instructions.

Digital files are for personal use only. They may not be resold, redistributed, shared, or used for commercial products without permission.

Original calligraphy artworks are created with sumi ink on Japanese paper.

Materials may vary slightly depending on the artwork, size, or option selected. Please check each Etsy listing for the specific details of the item.
